A COMMUNITY

BUILDING ON THE VALUES LOVE AND GRACE

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that the Humboldt Grace and associated research and community collaborations have taken place on the unceded ancestral lands of the Wiyot people, along with the neighboring Hupa, Karuk, and Yurok peoples, who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial.

We honor the original and ongoing caretakers of these territories and acknowledge their deep spiritual, cultural, and ecological relationship with the land. These communities have endured generations of displacement, erasure, and harm—yet their strength, resilience, and cultural contributions remain a vital thread in the story of Humboldt County.

As we work to elevate and preserve cannabis heritage, we recognize that this work is only meaningful when grounded in truth, inclusion, and justice. We commit to honoring Indigenous knowledge systems, supporting efforts for land rematriation and sovereignty, and co-creating pathways of healing, equity, and shared stewardship.

We extend our deepest respect to the Elders past, present, and emerging, and to the Indigenous communities whose land and traditions continue to shape this region and our collective future.
